FIRE AND EMS STUDY RELEASED: Link in Article
I’m proud of our members and what they do for this community day in and day out. But let’s be clear….doing the best we can with what we have does not mean we have everything we need.
Local 735 has been advocating for additional staffing, proper officer coverage, and having firefighters respond to more high-priority medical calls for years. The CPSM study supports many of those same changes. This isn’t about what is in the past it’s about what we need to invest in for the future!
Our residents and firefighters deserve more than recommendations that stay on paper. It’s time for us to get to work.
Please take a few minutes to read the article and share it with your family, friends, and neighbors. The full Fire and EMS Efficiency Study is linked inside the article so you can read it for yourself.

BETHLEHEM RESIDENTS - WE NEED YOUR HELP
Stand in asking for transparency, presentation of the complete Fire and EMS study, and a public presentation by the experts who conducted it. You paid for it. You deserve the full picture.
Join us at the Public Safety Committee meeting on Tuesday, October 20, at 5:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
We are asking the City to:
• Release the complete report before the meeting, giving residents, firefighters, and EMS personnel time to review it.
• Have the Center for Public Safety Management (CPSM) present its full findings and recommendations and answer questions.
• Present the City’s response separately, so everyone can clearly distinguish the independent recommendations from the administration’s proposed actions.
These decisions affect station coverage, budgeted staffing, apparatus, equipment, and the safety of our residents and first responders. Responsible spending matters, and so does ensuring our emergency services have the people and resources to protect this community.
The public deserves to understand all of the study’s recommendations, including those the City may choose not to pursue. Access to the complete report allows everyone to evaluate those decisions for themselves.
Attend. Bring a neighbor. Help us make sure Bethlehem’s public safety gets the thorough, transparent discussion it deserves.
