HazMat Team
Our HazMat Team is one of the busiest special units in the department, responding to everything from minor spills to full Level A‑suit deployments. Team members hold ProBoard® HazMat Operations, HazMat Technician, HazMat Safety Officer and HazMat Incident Commander qualifications, along with ICS certifications—ensuring expertise on every call.
Equipped with detection instruments, decontamination gear, and specialized apparatus, the team rapidly identifies and mitigates chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats. Whether monitoring large‑scale events like Musikfest and the Celtic Classic or managing industrial incidents, our responders deliver precise, safe outcomes under any conditions.
As the regional partner to Lehigh County Special Ops, the team provides seamless, multi‑jurisdictional support across Northampton County. Their commitment extends beyond emergency response: through public outreach and joint training exercises, they enhance community preparedness and environmental protection.
