Company 1- Schweder Station houses a total of 8 firefighters, 2 officers, one of them being the officer in charge (OIC), 3 drivers and 3 hoseman. This Firehouse is the largest of the 4 stations, it houses 7 pieces of apparatus has a sub level with a storage facility, two truck bay floors and a training room were firefighters can take part in classes. Lastly, 2 out of the 7 pieces of apparatus that are housed there are ambulances. 1 ambulance (medic 1) is staffed with two paramedics and the other is a reserve piece.

Pierce PUC (pump under cab). The water pump on this truck is located under the cab mainly allowing you to pump and drive at the same time. Engine 1 also a rescue engine for the South Side.

105’ heavy duty rear-mount aerial
2 firefighters- 1 Driver, 1 Hoseman
1st due ladder on the South Side, 2nd due ladder on the North Side.
Ladder 1 a unique truck compared to our other two aerial pieces we have in the city, as well as the other engines. It is considered a dry truck mean it does not have a pump nor does it carry any water, in order for it to flow water out of the ladder pipe it relies on a engine to pump water through it.

2 Firefighters: 1 Hoseman, 1 Driver
2nd due engine on the South Side. Responds on 3rd alarm to the North side. This Engine is unique on the south side, it has some specialty HAZMAT equipment as well as it is first due for Certain types of EMS calls within its district.

Not Staffed. Driven by Ladder 1 Hoseman when needed.
This vehicle is used to transport firefighters, tow trailers (for our boats and UTV) plow snow, carry a “Snow Load” of fire hose during winter months, and is our brush unit.

10Engine1 is soon to be replaced with a new Pierce Enforcer in the next couple of years. As it acts as a second rescue engine to Engine 6, we have made it very similar so that we can keep the same amount of rescue equipment on both sides of the river.
